Sa paggulong ng campaign period para sa national seats sa May 2025 midterm elections, ang mga pulis na mapapag-alamang sangkot sa partisan politics “will be prosecuted,’’ ayon kay Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla nitong Sabado.
Nangako si Remulla na hindi siya magdadalawang-sisip na kasuhan ang mga tiwaling pulis, subalit, tiniyak na “due process of law is observed.’’
“You have seen my record. I have a very low tolerance for malfeasance lalong-lalo na sa PNP (Philippine National Police),” ani Remulla.
Inihayag din ni Remulla ang buong suporta sa “Kontra Bigay” campaign sa pamumunod ng Commission on Elections (Comelec).
“Dalawa dapat ‘yan eh, campaign Kontra Bigay at campaign Kontra Tanggap. Two sides ‘yan eh. Dapat magkasama ‘yun,” pahayag ni Remulla.
“I don’t believe in vote buying either, it’s never been necessary sa province namin (Cavite) but that is a cultural phenomenon that has to be addressed nationally,” patuloy niya.
