Kinoronahan ang pambato ng Pilipinas na si Jamie Casiño bilang Miss Equality World 2026.
Nauwi ni Jamie ang international crown sa ginanap na coronation night sa Bangkok, Thailand noong August 30.
Nalampasan niya ang sunod-sunod na elimination rounds hanggang sa makapasok sa Top 3, bago tuluyang makuha ang pinakamataas na titulo sa kompetisyon
Sa Q&A portion, makabuluhang sinagot ni Jamie ang tanong na “If you had to choose between strengthening anti-discrimination laws and investing directly in economic opportunities for transgender communities, which would you prioritize and why?”
Aniya, “As a trans advocate, I would prioritize making gender-affirming care accessible to everyone. Because I do believe that if we provide gender-affirming care for trans women, then we would be able to save lives, just like how we queens here advocate for trans people.”
“I am more than ready to be the voice of equality, to work with the Miss Equality World organization, and to remind trans people that they are not alone. So come, join with me. Let’s save lives together for a better tomorrow. Thank you,” dagdag pa niya.
Bukod sa kanyang performance sa pageant, natanggap din ni Jamie ang Voice of Equality Award para sa Project MORE, isang inisyatiba na isinagawa kasama ang LoveYourself at Masterpiece Hospital.
