Mayroon umanong major development sa extradition request ng Estados Unidos kay Pastor Apollo Quiboloy bago matapos ang taon, ayon sa Department of Justice (DOJ).
Sa deliberasyon sa panukalang budget nitong Biyernes, tinanong ni Akbayan party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña si Quezon Rep. Keith Micah Tan, sponsor ng panukalang P46.4 bilyong budget ng DOJ para sa 2027, tungkol sa status ng extradition request para kay Quiboloy.
“Since medyo confidential po, we would like to give you a copy na lang po nung report nila. May ongoing petition po kasi,” sabi ni Tan.
Sinabi ni Cendaña na nauunawaan niya ang posisyon ng DOJ ngunit mayroon umanong pangangailangan na malaman ito ng publiko.
“We understand the position of the DOJ in terms of the procedures and in keeping the developments confidential pero kasi po nagtatanong ang taumbayan at mas lalong-lalo na po yung mga biktima ng kahayupan ni Apollo Quiboloy as to the status of this case,” sabi ng Akbayan solon.
“Siguro po, as a last point on this matter, are we looking at this year or next year na magkakaroon po ng major development dito. Pasensiya na po, I have to pursue this issue because this is an issue that is very urgent and pressing that needs immediate attention,” dagdag ni Cendaña.
Sagot ni Tan, “Ang commitment po ng DOJ, this year po may major accomplishment po ang ating pong DOJ with regard to that matter.”
“We will hold to task DOJ for that commitment na this year magkakaroon ng major development on this matter on the extradition of Apollo Quiboloy,” sagot naman ni Cendaña.
Noong nakaraang buwan, pormal na hiniling ng US ang extradition ni Quiboloy, na wanted kaugnay ng mga kasong sex trafficking.
