Kano wanted sa $2B healthcare fraud itinapon palabas ng bansa

Idineport ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang American national na kabilang sa high-priority target ng United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) dahil sa umano’y multi-bilyong healthcare fraud scheme.
Kinilala ang dayuhan na si Herbert Leon Kimble, 60 anyos, na naaresto sa isang commercial area sa Pasig City noong Hunyo 11.
Ayon sa BI, may kinakaharap na federal arrest warrant si Kimble na inisyu ng US District Court sa South Carolina dahil sa umano’y pag-oorganisa ng healthcare fraud scheme na tumarget sa US government-funded healthcare programs na umaabot sa mahigit $2 billion.
Kasama umano sa modus ang fraudulent marketing at pagbibigay ng mga hindi kinakailangang orthopedic braces na sinisingil sa Medicare.
“The Philippines will not serve as a sanctuary for fugitives seeking to evade justice in their home countries,” ani BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado.
“These arrests demonstrate our commitment to working closely with international law enforcement partners to ensure that foreign nationals who pose a threat to public safety are located, arrested, and removed from our communities,” dagdag pa niya.
Idineport si Kimble noong Hunyo 18 at isinama na rin sa blacklist ng BI.
